It is necessary to remember that those who translated the Bible into English from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek could only work from the language, since they were not familiar with the culture of the people of the East. For this reason, many passages in the English versions are incorrect. The translators missed the whole point of the Oriental figureof speech. They were honest men, but mistaken simply because they did not know.
