eye of the needle
Life is for Learning not for lounging. As such, most everything that happens is for the express purpose of teaching us something. This brief time on Earth which our Creator has given us, is therefore not about accumulating as many possessions as we can carry; nor is it about fulfilling some bucket list. Rather, the true purpose for our lives is to learn to become righteous, thereby nurturing and harvesting the fruit of the spirit. This Site is dedicated to those few who are willing to roll up their sleeves and labor for that meat which endures unto eternal life.
Our primary measure of truth is the Bible, which we hold to be the key in understanding the mystery of HIS will. Out of necessity to that principle, we must reject many of the common teachings and traditions held by the "Christian Church" today. Sincerity is no guarantee for truth, and though one can find much sincerity in the modern Church, there is usually little truth there. As always, our solace is found in the words of our Lord, "small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it".
The apostle Paul indicated that the great truths revealed to him were already being set aside even before his exit. During the following centuries those truths were completely covered over by the Orthodox Church (see the Study, Whatever Happened to Timothy?). All through the Dark Ages they were utterly unknown, only being partially recovered during the Reformation. But even then, as always, the establishment resisted the Spirit of truth.
It takes a great alacrity of mind to be able to study the scriptures without reading into them our own personal dogma. Too often the students of Scripture have chiseled their beliefs in stone and are rarely willing to consider anything which falls outside the articles of their faith. We may each have our own ideas and opinions as to what a passage might say, but let us at least acknowledge that we are all admiring the Book from a distance of many centuries, and our guides may have somewhere along the line lost that important scent for the truth.
Because the systemizing of error is so prevalent, we have been laden upon with a choice. Either we accept the error of the modern Church for the fellowship of their camp, or we reject the error and are ostracized from their camp. We have with great reward chosen the latter.
Howbeit, we do not claim to possess the whole truth. Understanding the truth is a gradual unfolding process, a journey and not a destination. We only claim that here, "outside their camp", we are not held like a tether to the traditions of the Church. We prefer to go on to a fuller understanding of HIS matchless Word.
If in meekness you can contribute here, please do. But be scriptural, not contentious. Iron sharpeneth iron, and with this attitude we can help each other continue our spiritual growth.
Of course we are aware that there are hundreds, even thousands of different factions each claiming to possess the truth. Yet it is our observation that, just as pearls are not to be cast before swine, neither is truth found on every street corner nor inside the ancient walls of the hallowed Universities, but rather and more precisely, through the Eye of the Needle.
