The religion that we today call Christianity is most probably a clever counterfeit. That's right. Does that shock you? It  should. It should because if it is indeed true that Christianity today does not in fact reflect what the Bible teaches, a burden is laid upon us to choose which we will align ourselves with, the Bible or our Religion.

Most will call preposterous any idea that Christianity today could be a counterfeit religion, but I aim to show that it is not only possible, but likely. And what may be even more shocking to you is that I believe it was actually GOD's will that HIS truth disappeared beneath the desert sands two thousand years ago.

Unless I miss my bet, GOD allowed HIS truth to be lost so that it could later be re-discovered. GOD wants HIS truth to be found as hid treasure, not dogmatically taught to intellectuals in some religious hierarchy. As our Lord declared, GOD hides from the wise and prudent what HE reveals unto babes (MATTHEW 11:25).

GOD has placed within the Bible barely noticeable clues buried just beneath the surface that when uncovered, plainly show that Christianity today is dead wrong on many of the events and details surrounding Christ's life. Who He was, what He was, what He taught and the purpose for His life and ministry are virtually unknown by the Church today.

How then was the truth lost? It was lost simply because there was not an unbroken chain of believers from the first Apostles to the present. As the original generation of believers began to die off and as persecution of the second generation of believers became more severe, a night fell over the Church. When they awoke on the other side of the morning, few could really say for certain just what was truth and what was tale.

Near as I can figure it, the events culminating in the loss of the truth unfolded something like this.

Christ taught His disciples the truth and after His ascension into heaven those disciples began to teach others also. They taught in the Temple and from house to house. Multitudes believed their message and before long their followers had spread like a flooding river throughout Judah and beyond into Asia, Africa and Europe. As they were expecting Christ to soon re-appear and establish His kingdom, few wrote down much of what they knew and experienced. Most of their teaching was just passed along by word of mouth, so to speak.

Nearly all the believers up to this point had been Jews but more and more the Gentiles would be coming to the faith. Gradually four groups developed, 1) unbelieving Jews, 2) believing Jews, 3) unbelieving Gentiles, and 4) believing Gentiles. Nearly all of the original believers were the believing Jews and they for the most part co-existed with the unbelieving Jews as the cult known as the sect of the Nazarenes. They remained faithful devoted Jews, but proclaimed that the Messiah was Yeshua (Jesus), the prophet from Nazareth.

Sometime around 40 A.D. a number of Gentiles started to believe the gospel and this really caused quite a stir within the Jewish community. Of course the unbelieving Jews were extremely hostile to these so-called Christians as were even many of the believing Jews. They still thought that a Gentile must be circumcised and be subject to the commandments of the Mosaic Law before he could be welcomed into the community of believers. Unfortunately, only a small number of the believing Jews were willing to fully accept and receive the believing Gentiles into the Faith.

Eventually a tremendous schism developed between many of the believing Jews, who were still "zealous after the Law," and the believing Gentiles. Soon after, a further schism developed between these believing Jews and the unbelieving Jews. It wasn't long before the believing Jews were forced to withdrew from both Gentiles and Jews, living out the rest of their existence in small communities across the region.

These believing Jews had been the direct descendants of Yeshua [Jesus] and His disciples. They were the ones who spoke the native language, Aramaic. They were also the ones who understood all of the Orientalisms of that culture. Their fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters were the ones who witnessed the crucifixion, and the resurrection, and the tongues of fire on the day of Pentecost. Unfortunately, they were also the ones who practically vanished from the page of history.

Inevitably, the believing Gentiles gained the ascendancy over the believing Jews and took control of the Church. Their Gentile culture re-cast the events of the Bible in a more Gentile light. The events surrounding Yeshua's life were seen more and more through their eyes and inaccuracies began to push aside the truth.

To make things worse, with the destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. the unbelieving Gentiles relentlessly persecuted all the Jews, believers as well as unbelievers, destroying everything they found that was Jewish. By 135 A.D. much of their culture was erased. Anything found written in their native Aramaic was destroyed.

Of course the believing Gentiles were also persecuted but only sporadically. Their sacred texts were in Greek so those were less likely to be sought out for destruction. In addition, many of their Christian beliefs took on pagan dress so as to survive the times in which they lived.

A century or two later, when the dust had settled, the Roman Catholic Church dominated. It became the sole authority and judged all teaching as either orthodox or heretical. Any Bishop who did not fall in line with what the Church put forth was rejected. A few tried to stop the insanity but were easily pushed aside and overwhelmed by those who were now supported by the pagan Roman army. What ensued was the Dark Ages where unimaginable evils were committed by the so-called Church of Christ.

The Reformation eventually came, re-claiming a few of the truths, but most were lost to the ages. These truths were lost that is to the Church, but GOD had hid them in HIS word. HE buried them just beneath the surface so that later generations could re-discover them.

To prove for yourself that the Church today has lost the truth, just look at any Christian holiday and compare it to what is plainly written in the Bible. It doesn't take long before you see that something is terribly wrong. Church traditions have been amazingly successful in eclipsing the truth of GOD's word from the hearts of men and women.

If I may suggest, today's Church knows little if anything of the true Savior. Not His name, not His nature, not the place of His birth, not the purpose of His ministry, not the length of His torture, not the day of His crucifixion, not how many were crucified with Him, not the duration He was in the tomb, not what transpired on that first Pentecost, nor the very reason He sent forth His disciples in the Book of ACTS.

You may wonder how the Church could possibly be wrong on all these accounts. That is an excellent question. You might even be inclined to think we are insane for suggesting that nearly all of Christendom is blind as to the truth. But consider and ponder only one thing and I think you might see the possibly of our assertion. I ask you to take just a few seconds to consider this one question, 'How could those of our Lord's day have crucified their own Savior?'

He was the one they daily pleaded for GOD to send. He was the one upon whom they had set all their hopes and aspirations. He was the one who was going to come and deliver them from the heavy hand of their oppressors. Yet after many long centuries, when He finally did arrive, they had Him killed.

How can we account for this phenomenon? It makes no sense whatever. There is no way we can make sense of it. It is indeed insanity at the highest, the most extreme level. How could they have been so blind? How could any believer be so blind, for they of that age were as much believers as many are today. They attended the Synagogue every Sabbath. They paid their tithes. They did all that they were told by the Church leaders was required of a believer. Yet their Savior lived among them and they knew Him not. Indeed, they hated Him with a passion.

So how can any today flippantly reject any possibility that they themselves are not also deceived? I fear that many Church-goers are being set up for a fall. They are conceiving a picture of their Lord which is just not true. They are building a false god, and any who might suggest this error are targets of their wrath. "We are Moses' disciples" exclaimed Yeshua's fellow-country-men, even as they were plotting to kill Him. Do we not hear a similar cry from the same group today?

I implore each reader to trust no Church, no religion, no man to show them the true Savior. Only the scriptures know Him. Only the scriptures can reveal Him.

This doesn't mean that the people going to these Churches are bad. It doesn't even mean that the Ministers, the Preachers and the Priests guiding these Churches are bad. It just means that they are all caught up in a system that is bad. A system that is blinding. A system that is enslaving them to it's Church Traditions.
